FOST Gallery is delighted to present My Forest Has No Name by Donna ONG. The exhibition explores humankind's fascination with the tropical forest through time, and how our perception of it is shaped through verbal and pictorial depictions. More often than not, our images and description of the forest, though describing it empirically, are also selective imaginative constructs.

Ong traces our portrayal of the forest from colonial times into the present day through a series of works that merge antique prints, ready-mades and text with original artwork. In doing so, the exhibition hopes to reveal the various lenses through which we build our understanding and opinion of the forest - how that affects the way we think and deal with it, including the decisions we make about it ecologically, politically, socially and economically.
