In a world where human contact has been diminished, the artist found himself having to face his inner thoughts and anxieties on a daily basis. Kiat then found a certain comfort in the energy of colours on a canvas, the vibrations it sent through sight, where a mark made was a reflection of the dance of his soul. He lost himself in the process to stumble upon beautiful accidents captured in the moment. Ever so often, we get so anxious about the outcome, that we forget to live in the moment. With this piece, Kiat expresses a form of positivity, freedom and a certain faith in humanity, both physical and mental that it will all end well.

Kiat is the co-founder of artist collective Syndicate and multi-disciplinary studio System Sovereign.The adventurous themes in his work are closely linked to the artist’s fascination with emotions and freedom. His freeform creative approaches have led him to develop work across multiple mediums - from spray paint on walls and acrylic on canvas, to music for dancefloors, theatrical stages and art installations, to works that blur the line between fine art and design for brands and cultural institutions. Kiat has developed work for the Peranakan Museum, Swarovski, ArtScience Museum, Adidas, Dior, Selfridges, Nike, Beams, SHOWstudio, as well as radio channels BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra.
