Traffic lights are signalling devices positioned at road intersections and pedestrian crossings for directing vehicular traffic by means of coloured lights: red for stop, green for go and yellow for proceed with caution. Drivers and pedestrians will have to stop when the light turns red, and patiently wait in hope the light will turn green soonest. Inspired by the the project title 'Streets of Hope', Boon decided to paint the traffic light’s coloured signals with symbols of peace, love and a smiley face to encourage Singaporeans to be patient, stay positive and be peaceful during these hard times, in hope that things will get better and easier soon.
