> ONLINE GALLERY > V Will Recover

The discussion on the post-pandemic economic recovery has taken an uncannily visual turn. The usage of the basic V (ideal), W (meh), U (bad), and L (unfathomably bad) shapes to trace the future trajectory of stock market indices portrays our greatest hopes and fears within a few confident graphical strokes. 'V Will Recover' charts Singapore’s greatest hopes for a quick and painless V-shape recovery, presenting a speculative vision of an impending unprecedented half-year long bull run, where the market crater of 03/2020 will be nothing but a minor historical blip, when life again returns to its usual one-directional upwards-trending growth.

About the artist
Sant Ruengjaruwatana is part of lhtttt (abbreviated from lies, half-truths, truths, true-trues), a Singapore-based design team (with Chantal Tan). We operate along the queer spectrum between print and screen, offline and online, still and moving, flat and multi-dimensional, object and subjects, solid and spatial, lies and true-trues. Our research interest lies in the updating of communication strategies (visual and non-visual) for the new synthetic and subjective media landscape brokered by the current geological epoch, the Anthropocene. We also organise Horizon99, a party/broadcast/design series for the redistribution of collective future imaginaries beyond the dull realism of the neoliberalist media
