Studio Sessions: NTU CCA Singapore Artists-in-Residence, Yee I-Lann and Ise in conversation
13 Jun 2015 - 13 Jun 2015  (3.00pm - 4.30pm )
FEE: Free

Yee I-Lann and Ise are Artists-in-Residence who have a material based approach through the use of photography, drawing, printing and food in their work and use research methods of oral history and storytelling in their gathering of material. Join these two artists in an open studio format where they will use their narrative interviewing techniques in conversation with each other, offering a glimpse into their studios with new drawings inspired by local ink painting techniques as well as a makeshift batik printing station.

Yee I-Lann’s practice links history, landscape, memory, and cultural identity via allusion to historical, popular, and everyday references often through the medium of photography. She was one of the co-curators of the Singapore Biennale (2013) and has exhibited as part of the Asia Pacific Triennial (1999).

Ise’s work is always participatory, embedded in conversation, friendship and the experiences of simply living life among a multitude of communities internationally. Exhibitions include the Singapore Biennale (2011), Jakarta Biennale (2009) and the 9th Istanbul Biennia (2005) with the Indonesian collective, Ruangrupa.
