Residencies Insights: Circuits of labour, Gary Ross Pastrana in conversation with Sidd Perez

Join NTU CCA Singapore Artist-in-Residence, Gary Ross Pastrana for a screening and discussion of selected work with Sidd Perez, Curator of NUS Museum. Gary Ross Pastrana looks at different mechanisms of labour: through the machine, through critiquing art world dynamics and through revealing the process of producing an art work. 

Sidd Perez is curator at the NUS Museum. Prior to this position, she was curtorial associate at the Drawing Room (Manila/Singapore) and one half of the curatorial collaborative platform, Planting Rice. 

Gary Ross Pastrana (The Philippines) has participated in numerous exhibitions, most notably in the New Museum Triennale, The Ungovernables, New York (2012) and recently held a solo exhibition at the Vargas Museum in Manila. Pastrana is one of the co-founders of Future Prospects Art Space in Cubao, Philippines and has regularly curated for shows both in Philippines and abroad.

The NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore is a research centre of Nanyang Technological University, developed with support from the Economic Development Board, Singapore. Located in Gillman Barracks alongside a cluster of international galleries, the NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore Singapore is led by Founding Director Professor Ute Meta Bauer. The NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore takes a holistic approach towards art and culture, intertwining its three platforms: Exhibitions, Residencies and Research & Education.

The NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore positions itself as a centre for critical discourse and experimental practices for Singapore, the region and beyond. It aims to play an active role within the local art scene, as well as being a part of the development of regional and international art infrastructures.
