Entang Wiharso: Trilogy

ARNDT Singapore is pleased to announce ‘Trilogy’ - a solo exhibition of an acknowledged Indonesian artist Entang Wiharso.

Wiharso is currently based between Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and Rhode Island, USA. He is one of the most significant artists from Indonesia today. Originally trained as a painter, Wiharso also creates sculptures, installations and aluminum cut-outs. His work, often channelling themes from his personal life, relates to questions of human conditions and cultural identities. By touching upon topics such as love, hate, religion, race, ethnicity, ideology and fanaticism, Wiharso also examines the socio-political conditions in a larger sense. Wiharso was one of the artists representing Indonesia at the 55th Venice Biennial.

‘Trilogy’ show at ARNDT Singapore will feature a new body of work by the artist: his large-scale paintings, wall sculptures, metal reliefs and aluminum cut-outs. The forthcoming exhibition elaborates on the themes from artist’s recent solo shows: ‘Love Me or Die’, ‘Untold Stories’ and ‘Geo-Portrait’.
